Ruffles on ruffles
Ruffles have gotten a major fashion makeover in the past year. With top designers like Miu Miu, Marni, Marc Jacobs, Simone Rocha, and more showing pieces with exaggerated ruffles, voluminous frills, and structured flounce, the frilly ruffle is a thing of the past. So whats the trick to pulling off the child like style? Making the ruffle the focal point of the entire outfit, and making sure it’s structured and dramatic!
Cue the structured ruffle skirt! Boasting a level of sophistication that brings it into adult territory a ruffle structured skirt is by far my favorite way to pull off the trend. I found the one I’m wearing at a Bloomingdales sale a few weeks back. But, I ADORE this satin finish frill skirt, as well as this blue ruffle skirt because both also pair well with this red ruffle top. Remember when I said go dramatic when wearing ruffles? Adding a ruffle top is a great way to add more dimension and drama to a structured ruffle skirt.
To finish off the look: add a statement earring. I went with these white bead drop stunners. I’ve been wearing these earrings non stop this past month. But can you blame me? I mean they are gorgeous! As for the shoes, make sure to keep them slick. Chunky shoes do not look good with a ruffles on ruffles outfit since there is already so much going on.

On a personal note: I’ve been head over heels with the idea of watching Rough Night, but from what I hear the theaters are packed. And as much as I love going to the movies, I’m not a fan of a full capacity theater. So, I guess I’ll have to wait a few weeks to watch it. On another note I’m excited to say I’ll be packing my bags in August and heading to Cabo, Mexico for an exciting girls trip!
like always, thanks for reading!
