The Best Shampoo For Combating and Preventing Dandruff

This post is sponsored by Dove DermaCare Scalp Dryness & Itch Relief Shampoo and Conditioner, but like always all thoughts and opinions are my own!

No matter how shiny and voluminous your hair looks, nothing is more unappealing (and embarrassing) than specks of dandruff. And now more than ever I find myself suffering from a dry and itchy scalp. I can probably thank using too many products for all that extra buildup! Plus, as the colder months creep up on us, it’s important to take extra care of our scalp because dandruff is an unfortunate cold weather side effect! And let’s face it, the colder it is the less we’ll probably want to wash our hair! The key is to take control and start using a treatment shampoo that soothes, hydrates and purifies for a refreshed, healthy scalp that will last all season long.

Dove’s DermaCare Scalp Dryness & Itch Relief Shampoo and Conditioner! This duo is loaded with pyrithione zinc, making it strong enough to tackle dandruff, but mild enough to use every day without drying out your hair. It also has a PH balanced formula which leaves your hair feeling smooth, manageable, and most importantly flake-free. Did I mention it also smells like coconut and shea butter?!? AKA, it smells heavenly!

I’ve been using Dove’s DermaCare Scalp Dryness & Itch Relief Shampoo and Conditioner for a couple of months now and I can honestly say my scalp is at its healthiest. After three uses my dandruff was noticeably better and now it’s completely gone. I’m excited to keep using this duo in the months leading up to winter, as my scalp gets drier and irritated as soon as the temperature drops. Did I mention I’m traveling to Chicago early October? So, taking care of my scalp this next month is extra important as Chicago is well…the windy city!

So how and when do I use Dove’s DermaCare Scalp Dryness & Itch Relief Shampoo and Conditioner? Well that’s easy! My first week using the duo, I washed my hair three times. Then I started using it twice a week after seeing results. Now I’m using it either once or twice a week depending on how my scalp feels and how packed my social calendar is! (I like to wash my hair on days I have events!) After washing my hair, I towel dry it gently, comb it out and then blow dry it straight!

Overall, I really love and recommend the Dove DermaCare Scalp Collection for anyone who is combatting dandruff and even those who aren’t since the formula feels luxurious and smells divine! The Dove DermaCare Scalp Series (Pure Daily Care, Invigorating Mint and Dryness & Itch Relief) is available at Target, Walmart and your local drugstore for $4.99 each.

I love using all of doves products it’s the only product that does not cause allergic reactions or skin irritations. I actually do not experience alot of dander since I have been using dove. I have wasted alot of time and money on products I use only once and because of my skin sensitivity. I have actually spent a $100.00 on shampoos claming the same thing’s and ended in the same way. I do plan to try the scalp dandruff shampoo & conditioner but regardless I will remain a repeated loyal dove user.
