SHOP MY RECENTLY BOUGHT Pieces

styling ripped bermuda shorts with grey YSL tributes

I don’t think there’s anything that feels more like summer than a great pair of shorts. But the latest shorts trend, Bermudas, is a bit controversial in the fashion world. With some women loving them thanks to the Kardashians and some women completely hating them, you can see why a gal might double think buying a pair. As for me, I'm team Bermuda shorts and here's why: When you are as curvy as I am especially in the thigh area (Thanks Mom!) finding a pair of shorts that doesn't make your legs look even bigger is difficult. Unlike short shorts that constantly ride up and occasionally cause chafing, Bermuda shorts stay in place and protect my thighs all while accentuating my curves and relieving my worry that my behind isn't hanging out!

Ruffles on Ruffles

Ruffles have gotten a major fashion makeover in the past year. With top designers like Miu Miu, Marni, Marc Jacobs, Simone Rocha, and more showing pieces with exaggerated ruffles, voluminous frills, and structured flounce, the frilly ruffle is a thing of the past. So whats the trick to pulling off the child like style? Making the ruffle the focal point of the entire outfit, and making sure it's structured and dramatic!  Cue the structured ruffle skirt! Boasting a level of sophistication that brings it into adult territory a ruffle structured skirt is by far my favorite way to pull off the trend. I found the one I'm wearing at a Bloomingdales sale a few weeks back.

Dainty Jewelry and mini cross body purse

I love a statement necklace as much as the next girl, but there’s something quietly alluring and eminently wearable about dainty jewelry. From delicate necklaces that you can layer to barely there bracelets, dainty pieces can finish off your look without over powering it. And when it comes to buying dainty jewelry Tous is my go to brand for beautifully crafted pieces. Today I've partnered with Tous to share with you how I style their dainty pieces with on trend styles like the pajama top and the denim skirt.

Wearing a floral dress doesn't have to mean pink and flow-y. Now more than ever there are a million ways to embrace the style. From long-sleeve to spaghetti strap, tight-fitting to extra flow-y, ones that are super-short, to ones that look just as cool solo as they do layered over a pair of cropped jeans. The range is seriously endless and today I'm sharing this extra sexy red floral dress in the tight-fitting category.
